About Us
We live here. We work here. And we do a lot more than provide local advertising online. We'll Make You Glad You Live Here...or Make You Wish You Did. |
Hi. My name is Ruthanna, and GotLongview.com is my baby. In the summer of 2008, I had a late night epiphany concerning the need for a local website that provided quality, comprehensive information. While looking for local information online, I had become frustrated with standard searches and so-called local search sites that were not actually local at all. Add to this the issue that the internet has been based on global usage, rather than local usage. So when searching for something right around the corner, an entire world's worth of information must be weeded out. Who's got time for that? So, my thinking basically went something to the effect of, "geez....somebody really needs to make a local website that houses everything about local stuff." Ding ding. And so, following a lot of planning, and incorporating the help of family and friends, we joined forces with a network of over 38,000 city guide sites that are all unique and locally run. And there began the Longview, Texas City Guide Site - GotLongview.com. * * * * * * * * * I am a Longview transplant. I originate from South Texas. But, my husband and his family have been here for many, many years - about four generations worth. I've been here 12 years. This area has been good to me, and I'd like to give a little something back. Our mission at GotLongview.com is two-fold: 1) to provide a quality, comprehensive website in which anyone can find information about Longview, and the surrounding East Texas area, and 2) to provide powerful, yet affordable marketing and advertising services for local business, service providers, and freelancers. Our desire is to enhance the community spirit by providing a means of communication that is not available through traditional sources. We're already a community. We just needed a place to meet online. Now we've got it. GotLongview.com. |
