How To Be A Professional Adult by Dennis Gaskill
That's an interesting concept—being
a professional adult. We can earn educational degrees, job titles, plaudits
and awards that signify our professionalism in the performance of duty, but
how do we become a professional adult to crown the quality of our character?
In order to become a professional adult we need to live it full-time
so it becomes part of our nature. Maturity can't be turned on and off
at will because sooner or later a person's true character will reveal
itself in moments when we react without thinking. After all, you can
dress a pig in a tuxedo, but underneath the fancy clothes it's still a
pig, and that's what will always show through in due time.
Here then, are my keys to being a professional human being, listed in
no particular order:

What Are You Afraid Of? by Dennis Gaskill
The fears that hold us back from
chasing our dreams are usually much bigger in our mind than they are in
reality. When we face our fears, we may or may not walk away in obvious
victory, but in time, we usually realize we walked away a little
smarter and a little less afraid of our mind's own shadows.
Fear is the great thief of life's best rewards. We fear
rejection so we don't offer our approval to others, or we criticize
others to reject them first. We fear embarrassment so we don't offer
our own uniqueness. We fear criticism so we don't offer our creativity.
We fear failure so we don't fight to make our secret dreams a reality.
We all have our own fears, but perhaps what we really fear is being
unmasked because we are unsure of our own self-worth. I promise you
this . . . you are worth far more than you realize.
What have your fears been keeping you from?

Be Transformed!
Take a leap of faith.
Accept fear as natural, yet something we are expected to overcome.
Set personal standards. High ones.
Set
an unimaginable goal. Easy goals can be achieved ... easily. Set a goal
beyond your capacity, then allow God to work through you. You'll be
amazed.
Practice deep breathing. It helps to become more patient, clear minded, and focused.
Don't
play "victim". Everyone on the planet has been victimized in some way.
It is the sad tragedy of our human condition. But rather than ask, "Why
me?" ask yourself, "Why not me?" None of us are exempt from pain and
suffering. Be courageous. Take responsibility for yourself.
Learn who you are. Acknowledge your flaws, and exercise your strengths. Be yourself.
If you fail, simply learn. Then try again with your added knowledge.
Forgive. Don't hold grudges, nor resentments.
Get daily inspiration, daily strength.
Be grateful.
Help and encourage others. Share.
